Getting Started with Project Life: Intro

I've been scrapbooking and papercrafting for YEARS!!!  But lately I have noticed my mojo has been lacking ... thus the lack of blog posts.  Let's face it, we all hit that brick wall at some point in our scrapbooking lives.  I still want to preserve the memories and events in my life, I just don't want to do the huge 12 x 12 layouts anymore.  I want something easy and quick.  So, I have refocused and am giving Project Life a try!  Pretty excited!

Since this is my first time working with Project Life and similar systems, I thought you might like to follow along while I figure out how to organize, plan and create Project Life Pages.  If you are not sure what Project Life is or what it is all about, check out this video.

I'll be back soon with an update!

Bra Card for Lingerie Shower

Hello, everyone!

My allergies are kicking up, my dogs are chasing and barking at anything that flies, and the grill is uncovered ... that means it's SPRING!!!  Woo Hoo!!  And what comes with spring?  Weddings and bridal showers!  And our family is in the throws of planning for one.  Cousin C is getting married this May and we have circled the wagons to get everything ready for her big day.  The Rowe Girls (tribute to my Grandma Rowe) are on a mission!

Here is the card I made for Cousin C's lingerie shower we had this past weekend.  Angie has a great tutorial on how to create this card on her blog, AngiesPaperPassion

The bra is the front of the card and the panty is the back.  BTW:  I did round out the "cheeks" a bit.  :)

How it's made ...

Base: CS cut to 6 in x 7 in ... scored at 3.5 in
Template:  CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge
Paper:  I think it was My Mind's Eye, but I'm not sure.  I'll update once I find out.
Ribbon:  Stampin' Up! Daffodil Delight 1/4" Cotton Ribbon

The card came together pretty quick!  And it was a hit at the shower!  Now, off to work on cupcake toppers!

Sheltering Tree Card

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  I sure did!  Hubby gave me tuplis (my fave!) and a beautiful card.  We shared a lovely dinner with live music Friday night and then a wonderful lunch with a little shopping in Nashville Saturday.  The best part?  Spending the whole day with HIM!

Now, I whip up a card like no one's business ... need one in 2 hours ... done!  But when it comes to Hubby's cards, I tend to research, study, sketch, and ponder for days until it finally comes to me.  Same thing happened this time until inspiration finally hit at the right time!  Here it is!

I have seen many versions of this card on Pinterest.  Here's what I used ...

I also used a small heart punch, red glitter paper, and red/white bakers twine I already had in my stash.

I'm not going to show you the inside as there are somethings that are not meant to be shared.  But I will tell you I continued the Sheltering Tree theme in my message to Hubby.  HE LOVED IT!!  This was our 11th Valentine's Day together so I placed 11 hearts on the tree.  He caught it!

Thoughts & Prayers

Good afternoon all ...

Today I am sharing a card I made last night for a sweet lady whose mother recently passed away.  I was not able to attend the visitation nor the service, but I wanted her to know I was thinking of her and the family.

This card came together so fast.  The Thoughts & Prayers stamp set provided the perfect sentiment I was looking to convey ... simple but heartfelt.

Here are the SU! items used:
