Cut Above™ Card Kit

You can NEVER have enough cards!  I am always trying to whip one up at the last minute, which causes me to DESTROY my playroom every time ... which causes Hubby to fuss about said destroyed playroom ... which drives me nuts!!  So for Hubby's sake ... and mine, I decided to get some cards whipped up and my mess cleaned up.

Clean playroom = happy Hubby!  :)

I grabbed the new Cut Above™ Happy Birthday Card Kit, Pacifica ink pad and the You Mean the World to Me stamp set to complete the cards.   In less than 1 hour I whipped up 10 cards (and cleaned up my mess).

This Cut Above card kit comes with 10 – 5½" x 4¼" Printed Card Bases, 10 – Green Printed Strips, 10 – Blue Printed Strips, 10 – Printed Brackets, 20 – Silver Triangle Studs, 12 – 3-D Foam Squares, and 10 – Coordinating Envelope.  All this to make 10 cards for $9.95 ... that's only $1.00 per card!

Be sure to check out the other Cut Above™ Kits!

Watercolor Card

Lately, I have been seeing cards using the masking tape technique using painter's tape.  I've tried all morning, but alas, no success.  Hmmmm ... Challenge Accepted!  (Loved Barney on How I Met Your Mother!)

Since I couldn't get the technigue quite right, I pulled out my watercolor pencils and water brush to give them a whirl.  After a few attempts, I got the look I wanted.  Renewing my love of watercolor pencils!  We used to carry the water paint brush, but no longer have it.  You can find them at any arts and crafts store.  Here's the water brush I used.

While creating this card, I started getting the watercolors on my desk.  Then, like a flash of GENIUS I remembered that I had our NEW All Purpose Mat!  This mat is AWESOME!!  Rubber back to grip to my work desk so the mat does not move and it allows for easy wipe up the water and ink.  LOVE this mat!  Tossing my "other" brand mat into the kids' play box.

Quick Cards with Chantilly Picture My Life

This past weekend was incredibly busy!  Not only was I vendoring for 3 days at the Chattanooga Salvation Army Angel Tree Crop, but in the middle of that I had a girls' dinner in Knoxville to celebrate Mom's birthday and Cousin #2 buying her first home and had to put the finishing touches on their gifts (more about that in another post).  Whew!  The miles racked up big time this weekend ... but I would not have missed the girls' dinner for anything.  I love getting together with Mom, Aunt S (who is more like a big sister), and Cousin #1 and Cousin #2 (who are more like my little sisters).

With everything going on, I needed a quick card for Mom and Cousin #2.  So ... Picture My Life to the RESCUE!!  These PML cards are AWESOME and so VERSATILE!  I chose Chantilly PML due to the girly nature of the kit.

Pennant Frame and Off-Roading ... What a Pair!

This past weekend I was playing around with a pennant frame I have had for quite a while.  I've been moving it from one shelf ... to another shelf ... to another shelf ... to ... well, you get the idea.

FINALLY, I decided to do something with it!  Working with retired Skylark paper and stickers, kraft cardstock, olive Baker's twine, Burlap ribbon, and green epoxy bubbles, I  framed a picture of Hubby and I before our first off-roading RZR trip in Moab, UT.  I tried not to "girlie it up" too much ... I think I succeeded.  The sentiment on the frame is PERFECT for how I feel when I am with him.

Happy crafting!
