January Calendar: Showhaven and Artbooking Cricut Cartridge

As I have posted before, I love, love, love calendars!  What better way to remember the little details of the past than by flipping through an old calendar/date book.  The big events in life are easy to remember ... weddings ... births ... holidays ... putting a tiny ding in Hubby's truck.  But what about the day-to-day life we live?

Do you remember  ...  the day you met your future in-laws for the first time?  May 29, 2004 ...  the day you applied for the job you love ... March 15, 2009 ... the day Hubby signed up for his first RZR race ... October 3, 2014 ... the day your puppies were born ... well, I confess I don't have that date, but my mother-in-law does on her calendar!

See?  There is so much life between the "scrapbook worthy" events in our lives that lead to great stories that may not make it in to your scrapbook.  That's where a monthly calendar layout comes in!

Here's my plan ... each month I'll just place the calendar in my Designed Decor Black Shadow Box, jot down a few non-scrapbooky (new word!) events and select a photo from that month.  Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!

Right page layout: Scrapbook Generation January 2014 Create online magazine.  Turned their 1-page layout upside down.

Left page layout:  Artbooking Cricut Cartridge, cut at the recommended 11".

Quick & Easy Engagement Pop Up Card

Last month I got a phone call from Cousin C while I was at work.  I thought it was a little odd, but I love hearing from my family anytime.  I asked what was up and she said, "oh, nothing, just sitting here with my fiance."  My response ... "WHAT?!  I mean, CONGRATS!"

And so, the wedding planning is off and running!  Of course, this called for a card.  Flipping through my trusty Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge, I found the perfect pop up card.  One key, three cuts, 2 pieces of cardstock, and a few embellishments later, I have this cute engagement card.

All three pieces were cut a 7" as noted in the handbook.  NOTE:  I used my Cricut E2.

CTMH items used:
Paper Fundamentals Whimsy Assortment (Glacier) (Z2033)
White Daisy Cardstock (1385)
Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge (Z3017)
Pearl Flourishes and Sparkles
Seam Ribbon (retired CTMH item)
